Queen B’s Decree: I know I said the last book in this series, Every Shattered Notes, was my favorite. But I was wrong, my favorite is Never After Us.
There was just so many things that worked:
- good banter
- forced proximity
- found family
- hilarious mom/daughter relationship
- deep discussions of grief and loss
The romance is definitely a slow burn but in the best way. Mara and Alec grow such a beautiful relationship. They both are hesitant to show their vulnerabilities and open up, and I love seeing them support each other.
I enjoyed them so much I kind of wish we had a mini-extended epilogue, I’m going to miss Mara, Alec, and Mila.
