Queen B’s Decree: I got sucked into Every Shattered Note. Dex has been part of the music scene his whole life, being born into a record label, part of a giant band, and he’s no stranger to the tabloids. So when Aly confuses him with the guitarist she’s hired for the wedding she’s planned, he jumps on the opportunity to be someone else and just let the music be.
The story itself is pretty lyrical. Alyssa is someone who guards her heart, who utilizes control to survive. And Dex is just trying to put himself back together to find the best version of himself he can be.
It’s angsty, both heartbreaking and heartwarming, and leaves you feeling hopeful at the end. I loved that there wasn’t any major miscommunication or issue, it was just a slow and realistic story with support and patience. My favorite of the series yet.
