Lucy and Damiano meet as children, and after a traumatic event, pose as siblings to stay together when they are later adopted by a mean mafioso family. Damiano is raised to be the next mafia don, while Lucy is the unwanted child, forced into this family because of her love of Damiano.
I was a little underwhelmed by Damiano. He was so in love with Lucy, yet he dated and was with plenty of other women (while of course, Lucy stays virginal for him 🙄). I totally understood their trauma bond and why they were so connected to each other, and I get that Damiano felt like he had to play a role…but can we not have a celibate hero to match his energy?
Lucy though, she saved the day. She was the problem solver and man, I just love a strong woman who fights for herself.
It was still a quick and enjoyable read, but I wasn’t nearly as obsessed as the first in the series.
