Read. Reign. Repeat.

Pretty Evil by Rebekah and David Ian McKendry

Queen B’s Decree: Pretty Evil was a weird one for me.

We have a teenage pop star with an overbearing mother but we all come to find out it’s something to do with magic and fate and prophecies? And our pop star, Mallori, just evades the cops and hides from the general public by wearing…combat boots?

Imma be honest, there was a lot that didn’t make sense or flow well. And while I knew there was some fighting going on, I did not expect the gore that we got.

By the end, I was left feeling unsatisfied and unsettled, like I was missing something important. I enjoyed the art though!
