Queen B’s Decree: Did I read this basically the minute it hit my kindle? Yes. Am I still thinking about it months later? Also yes.
We met Marin as a minor character in book two, as the ship captain who takes on Ree (a sentient plant) as a crewman. She travels with her best friend Perri, as sea serpent, trying to raise money to pay off her family’s debt (long story involving an ex) and upon those travels she meets Dax, a musical prodigy. When the city burns down, she agrees to take him on her ship if he pretends to be her boyfriend when she goes back to her hometown (refer to the long story about the ex).
Like every story in this series, Sea of Charms just made me feel so much. I love the found family, the self-discovery, the sweetness of love, the humor, and just the joy found in living.
I hope this series never ends, truly.
