On Thin Ice by S. Rena

Queen B’s Decree: On Thin Ice started a bit like a formulaic bully romance. FMC gets blamed for something and the MMCs are mad and want to punish her. But our FMC, Sam, was strong and didn’t back down, despite their bullying so I got sucked in.

Sam was the star of the book. She pushed back against those out to get her, and never let her attraction to the boys get in her way or overwhelm her sensibilities. I don’t blame the boys for all individually falling for her. I kind of did too.

The story kind of flew off the rails a bit, with the addition of a secret society (sex cult???) and a bunch of corruption. Which frankly felt like a lot for one book. Honestly, the full cast audio made this such an enjoyable read. Regardless of some of the issues I had with the plot and pacing, the narrators sucked me in and kept me listening. I’ll definitely be on the look out for more books read by Blaire Le Blanc, Winston James, E.M. Wylde, and Edward Black!
