Of Silver and Curses by Maddox Grey

Queen B’s Decree: Fated mates between a witch and a nonbinary cursed werewolf who “hate” each other? Sign me up.

I also listened to the prequel, Of Melodies and Maledictions. It explains more why Scythe and Talon have such animosity between them. Even after years, the chemistry between them still runs hot and they are both MAD ABOUT IT. The prequel novella really added to my enjoyment of the full story, as it gave me a little more background into the whens, hows, and whys.

When they meet back up in Of Silver and Curses, Talon….really pushed Scythe’s buttons. Other than the suspense and mystery of them searching for their respective sisters, the two’s lust definitely over takes the story at the beginning. And let’s be real, it was some nice, spicy lust. But be prepared their descent into love took a bit longer.

One thing I loved is how normal gender identity and sexuality was treated. Tal was nonbinary and his sister is trans, and it’s no big deal. Everyone just accepts them and loves them anyway and it was such a heartwarming part of the story.

I read this as an audiobook and I think it was the correct way to go. Told in dual points-of-view with full cast, it was very easy to distinguish the characters and everyone did such a good job giving them life.
