Queen B’s Decree: I enjoyed getting to know these characters.
Aurora was interesting. It’s like she’s made it to her mid-thirties before realizing that most of her life choices haven’t really been for herself. She’s fallen into her job that she never intended to stay at while watching her friends fall in love while she’s just…stagnant. I really loved how she finally puts herself first and makes changes. Change is scary, but it can lead to great things.
And Deacon is so traumatized by his childhood that he’s so obstinate. I love his adoration for his daughter, Willow, but I liked him finally growing and realizing that him choosing a life or relationship doesn’t detract from his daughter’s wellbeing. This was a story where I absolutely saw both sides of the issue and couldn’t totally fault either of them.
Overall, this was a fun (yet surprisingly deep!) read with a great mix of character development, steam, banter, and the most adorable little princess.
