Queen B’s Decree: One of the things that makes me feral about Lilith Vincent’s books is how over the top her MMCs are. Possessive, protective, obsessive, all of the -ives. And no matter what, they can’t help but be sweet to their women.
Adora and Vincenzo have both had some troubled pasts. Adora has been abused by her mafia don father her whole life, who is the same man that massacred Vincenzo’s family. So despite Vincenzo hating her father…he just can’t seem to hate Adora. And she can’t seem to stop herself from caring for him too.
One of the things I loved best about Cruel Savior was the mistakes both the characters make. You know, sometimes in dark romance or mafia books the MMC is such a badass and never gets hurt and does all the things correctly all the time. Vincenzo is still mourning his family, he’s not ready to be Don yet—he tries but man, he is still learning. And I love that he doesn’t immediately know it all and turn into this crazy competent criminal. Both he and Adora are taking it one day at a time and trying their best. And yes, they get a HEA but it’s not an easy road to get there.
Overall, this book had me by the chokehold and I couldn’t put it down. The spice and steam were chef’s kiss, as always, and has given me further proof that Lilith Vincent is an auto-buy author for me.
