Just Don’t Call it Love by Erin Nicholas

Queen B’s Decree: It’s been too long since I’ve read an Erin Nicholas book. Like every other book of hers I’ve read, Just Don’t Call it Love hit the sweet spot for me.

It’s a wonderful balance of hilarious antics, quirky side characters, fun banter, the right amount of spice, and the perfect of amount of vulnerability and emotional relationship development.

Nora is the small town sweetheart, who was basically raised by the town and loves it there—she’s a bit like Leslie Knope in her love for her town. Frankly, if only there was a tiny horse, this book would have been even more perfect. And Alex is the injured NHL hockey player who is stuck playing for a minor league team, and his entire life has been hockey, hockey, and more hockey. So imagine his surprise when the team he’s hired for is less about hockey and more about putting on a show. Imagine if the Savannah Bananas were a hockey team and that’s basically it.

And you know, I’d buy season tickets for that kind of game.

I loved the deep moments between Nora and her found family, and overall, this one was such a heartwarming happy ending that I didn’t want it to end. I’m definitely ready for book two!
