Read. Reign. Repeat.

When Fate is Cruel by LJ Andrews

Queen B’s Decree: The Ever Seas is one of my favorite series and I was definitely drawn into the Stonegate series last year, so I was 100% on board with some novellas featuring Erik and Roark.

I knew Erik had a terrible childhood, but dang, reading about it was painful. But knowing that he gets his HEA, knowing how much everyone else was rooting for him and trying to protect him when he was a child, makes it easier. And Tait? Oh my heart I can’t wait for his story.

Roark’s story gave me such a greater insight into his past and how he came to be living with the so-called enemy. I loved his initial meeting with Lyra and while I totally understand why it had to be the way it was, knowing what he gave up was heartbreaking. The scenes with him and his brother just made my heart heavy, but in the good kind of way. And now, I am even more excited for Heir of Twisted Lies.
