Read. Reign. Repeat.

The Love Audit by Lucy Eden

Queen B’s Decree: The Love Audit had a strong start. I liked the childhood friends turned rivals turned fake dating turned real plot line. And Wesleigh Siobhan is such a great narrator, I’ll listen to anything she narrates.

The small town setting was adorable and I loved how Jasmine and Derek seemed to fit right in; how the townspeople openly welcomed them into the fold. And while they aren’t in town for a great reason, I appreciated their hesitation once they got to know all the townspeople.

But I just couldn’t get past Derek’s actions. He was the proud owner of a “Jump to Conclusions Mat” (that’s an old person reference, you young kids) and his apologies didn’t really work for me. He really treated Jasmine horribly and she just was okay with that treatment, apparently.

While I loved about 80% of the story, at the end of the day I just couldn’t forgive Derek.
