Queen B’s Decree: When I was a teenager, I started reading the Robert Ludlum paperbacks on my dad’s shelves. And I ate them up. Everybody Wants to Rule the World is very reminiscent of those, full of spies and humor.
I listened to this one, narrated by MacLeod Andrews, and he did such a great job at differentiating between the characters. The Russian accent in particular was top tier. There were many, MANY, characters—and I got a little lost towards the beginning with all the points-of-view.
I got a little bored towards the middle; I think the plot got a bit too muddled for me. I felt like I had to skim for quite a bit until my interest was piqued again. But the ending had some twists and turns I never expected, including a loss of a good one (RIP). Overall, I think I wanted to like this one more than I actually did.
