Queen B’s Decree: I was captivated from page one.
Cameron (aka Mori) is such an interesting and damaged character. Molded by this secret military branch, he’s becoming their perfect soldier. He just…accidentally kills all his partners. Enter Emery—his new partner. After she manages to survive the first night with him in his “cell,” they become allies of a sort.
I loved the secret military academy setting, although it made it hard to like the side characters—knowing anyone could die at any time. But I was hooked. Would they survive the trials? Who could be trusted?
Cameron is such a damaged and tragic character, and I just wanted to give him a hug (but he might legit kill me if I did), so him developing true feelings for Emery just made my heart happy. The cliffhanger ending ☠️ me, I’ll be waiting with bated breath for the next in the series.
The narrators, William Walker and Isabelle Turner, did such a great job capturing my attention. The accents, the tone, I felt like I was living in that bunker. Kudos and I hope they return for the next book!
