Queen B’s Decree: This book was like a drug for me, I wanted more.
Peri is a fantastic heroine. She is sunshiny and light, but only because she is purposefully choosing to be. She struggles with her traumatic past, which makes her even more persistent in controlling her magic and trying to be as helpful as possible.
She’s paired up with a bunch of misfits at this magic reform school she’s brought to. Raze, Mirage, Hail, and Jonah all have very different voices and personalities and it made them much easier to keep track of. Plus it felt like they seemed to all mesh well, like they all fit together in this little odd found family.
I enjoyed the major plot, and I felt fully invested in what was happening in their magical world. But, you know me, the relationships are what I really dig. I loved how Peri seemed to get to know each of the misfits and how they matched each other (and sorry but I have a favorite and it’s Raze).
I’m dying for more and can’t wait for the next in the series.
