Queen B’s Decree: I love a Beauty and the Beast retelling, so I was all in on A Curse So Dark and Lonely. For a young adult book, this was surprisingly dark. You’ve got: human trafficking, kidnapping, the Prince turning into a dangerous monster (with a very high kill count), terminal illness. You may be […]
Queen B’s Decree: And I’m firmly hooked on this series. It’s kind of mafia-lite, but that’s the way I like it. Stolen Heir has Beauty and the Beast vibes. A little kidnapping, a little imprisonment. Just a little foreplay, ya know. Nessa’s and Mikolaj’s relationship moved really fast (a bit instalovey if we’re being for […]

This novella is pretty short, so there isn’t a ton of time for relationship development. But I did still […]
Queen B’s Decree: I am a sucker for anything Beauty and the Beast-esque, so I jumped to read The Price of Beauty. Maisie, a peasant girl from the Outlands, after a series of events finds herself both the King’s intended bride while simultaneously kidnapped to a Fairy world. I loved the world building in The […]
Queen B’s Decree: I won a copy of The Cursed Fae recently and was pretty excited to dive in. The story progresses very quickly (due to the short nature of the novella, I suppose) but I enjoyed the romance between Lily and her dark fae, Kailen. There were definitely some Beauty and the Beast vibes […]
Queen B’s Decree: I love fairy tale retellings, especially Beauty and the Beast retellings. What’s not to like? There’s always a “beast” hiding his inner marshmallow and often a great redemption arc. Izzy is an overworked editorial assistant and finds herself on the doorstep of the reclusive Beau Towers: who has promised his memoirs to […]
