Queen B’s Decree: You know, sometimes I like it when the bad guy is two steps ahead in a thriller. I like it to be challenging.
I never felt like I was figuring it out, or that I was able to predict what was happening next. And whenever it switched points-of-view I kept wondering who was gonna be next to ☠️.
While this is a standalone, I felt like I was plopped in the middle of a series. There seemed to be a lot of back story about our protagonist, Detective Sergeant Judith Lee, and I wondered if I was supposed to know all this already, or if these tidbits were indicative of more books to come? It made the first bit of the book a bit jarring, but once the mystery started to unfold, I forgot my issues with pacing and just enjoyed the ride.
Overall, I’m definitely in my mystery era and I’d definitely read more from this author.
