Queen B’s Decree: I’m a sucker for anything Pride and Prejudice related…and Behind Five Willows also being You’ve Got Mail-coded? It’s like my kryptonite.
This is set in historical Korea when fictional novels were banned. Honestly, it should almost be categorized a horror purely for that fact. I can’t imagine my life without fiction, frankly.
But we get our rich, Darcy-like MMC, Seojun and his awkward interactions with our Elizabeth Bennett-like FMC, Haewon. They have been penpals for a while but naturally…they don’t realize it at first. Instead they just have some bickering that I was all here for.
The rest is a pretty adorable romance that follows the P&P timeline, and once again, I love all forms of Mr. Darcy. He even gets the white shirt moment in this one, which is a real blessing.
