Queen B’s Decree: There’s just something about Cala Riley MC books that get me. Just the right amount of steam, relationship development, and suspense to keep you hooked.
The biggest trope in this one is a reverse age gap, where our FMC Sami is about 10 years older than our MMC, Loyal. But have no fear, Loyal didn’t get his road name for nothing; the man is persistent once he chooses to care for someone. And that extends to Sami’s teenage daughter (even though the poor girl is acting like a teenager for most of the book—can’t blame her, I was a teenager once too).
Sami was a bit wishy washy towards Loyal and their relationship, but I understand feeling stuck between her wants and her daughter’s. And like every Cala Riley MC book, the found family is some of the best parts, and I loved seeing Sami and her daughter spread their wings once they get that support.
Another quick bingeable read from Cala Riley!
