Queen B’s Decree: An arranged (forced???) marriage trope just works so well in the mafia/dark romance world.
Shiloh tried to escape her father’s world, but gets sucked back in when she is forced into marriage with Jagger Moss, kingpin of his dark empire. Shiloh and Jagger have an instant physical connection, but it definitely feels like Jagger treats her like a possession (insert ‘Ryan used me as an object’ The Office meme). But Jagger’s right hand man, Maddox, is always there on the sidelines.
This was a whirlwind of action. Shiloh is such a strong character; she never loses her sense of self despite being thrown into an untenable situation. And I loved getting the points-of-view from both Jagger and Maddox, it really helped me understand their perspectives and get to know them better.
So many twists and turns, I never expected the story to go the way it did. It was a full story with an ending…but I know that their story isn’t done and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
The narrators Dani Staro as Shiloh, Caden Hart as Jagger, and Lucas Troy as Maddox did such a fantastic job. They really gave such life to the characters, and I think I enjoyed this even that much more as audio than I would have reading traditionally.
