Read. Reign. Repeat.

The Princess Knight by Cait Jacobs

Queen B’s Decree: Despite the fact that this book takes place at a dangerous military academy and the countries are on the brink of war, The Princess Knight felt like a comforting read somehow.

Clía goes to the military academy (woefully unprepared, I might add) to follow a boy Prince—very Elle Woods of her. But what happens is she grows into her own. Yes, she has some slips and mistakes along the way, but she becomes the kind of character I love. One that sticks up for what she thinks is right, and one who trains her butt off to do her best.

Ronan is her Prince’s best friend and captain of the guard…and he becomes her personal teacher. I really loved their relationship progression. I loved that they truly become colleagues and friends first, and the rest falls together naturally.

The action and suspense kept me hooked, but it was Clía’s transformation into a badass that made unable to quit reading. I would happily read more from this author.
