Read. Reign. Repeat.

Long Live by V.B. Lacey

Queen B’s Decree: 2023 is the year I branch out on books, so Long Live was a perfect addition to my fantasy attempt.

I was hooked from the beginning; the lore, the characters, the magic. Something is happening in the world and the long-slumbering elemental gods are waking up. Their points-of-view all felt unique and individual, and I loved getting to see all their complexities and flaws. Of course I loved Rynn, the air elemental. He’s the kind of broody boy I can’t resist.

Perhaps it’s because I’m not a typical fantasy reader, but the pacing was a bit off for me—it dragged on at times.

The cliffhanger at the end was brutal and I’m still not over it. Gonna need some kintsugi to put my heart back together. The bill is in the mail, V.B.
