Queen B’s Decree: I love the idea that a genetically modified human (ish??) just wants to make the world happy upon her escape from the lab. And that she gets a job at a coffee shop in order to make that happen.
The coffee shop that Ruby ends up working at is kind of this quirky place, filled with people who are a bit of a found family, including her coworker, Mira. And when stuff goes down, and Ruby needs help, I love how everyone banded together to save her. It’s exceptionally heartwarming. And the sapphic romance is pretty cute too.
The art is just my style, pretty cute and bright. And the humor is on point, just enough to keep you smiling. Steam was such a fun read, an easy graphic novel that made me want more.
