Queen B’s Decree: The devil’s daughter, Devica, is seventeen and just found out she has to take over Hell when her father “retires” when she turns eighteen. When a boy her age is sent down to the murderers’ lot but claims his innocence, she’s intrigued enough to hear him out.
Long story short…she takes Nate and helps him escape Hell, which is giant ordeal. You know…because it’s Hell?
The story is action packed, but I felt like it dragged a bit in the middle. I felt like so much of the story revolved around their trip through the underworld, but not enough on what happened once they did escape. The romance was also pretty cute, but I did want a little more (is this all just a trauma bond??).
I did have a fun time and really enjoyed my read. I got to know these characters so well, there was a moment there I almost cried (IYKYK), and I enjoyed that the story was a little open-ended, so hopefully there will be more in this universe!
