Queen B’s Decree: When I saw that the synopsis mentioned revenge, I knew I had to read this one. Sebastian thinks that Willow broke his brother’s heart and stole his money, so he devises a plan in which she’ll fall for Seb and then he’ll turn around and break her heart. But of course, best laid plans and all that jazz.
While I enjoyed the FAFO part once Sebastian realizes his mistake, and despite the fact I couldn’t stop reading, I struggled with Willow as a character. She just seemed purposefully ignorant in multiple ways—ignoring Seb’s red flags, her commitment to being her aunt and cousin’s indentured servant, the way she acts on her FIRST day of a job.
At the end of the day, I had fun and enjoyed The Husband Contract, but it was not without flaws.
