Queen B’s Decree: Say It Isn’t Snow got me all ready for winter. Holly and her best friend’s brother, Caleb, had a fling one summer seven years ago before a miscommunication tore them apart. Now they’re both trapped in the same winter cabin during a snowstorm…and Caleb thinks he’s been given a second chance.
This is a novella, so there isn’t a ton of time for back and forth, but Caleb has enough yearning for the both of them, IMO. The man is so down bad for Holly; he’s never been with anyone else, he writes her messages that he’s never sent, and as soon as they are together again, he’s there spoiling her.
Despite some deeper issues regarding Holly’s eldest sibling-ness and parentification, this felt like a sweet and easy read. I loved knowing that there was no angst between them, and that Caleb would just fix it all.
It just reminded me of how much I enjoyed the Heston U Hotshot series and think I need more hockey in my life.
