Queen B’s Decree: There’s just something about a grumpy MMC with a soft interior that gets me every time.
Chloe is basically sunshine, and she brings such joy to Xander’s shy and traumatized daughter. While the spice and romance are such a great part of the story, I think what snagged me was the found family feel of the Starlight Cove and the adorable and sweet relationship that Chloe forms with little four-year-old Emma.
The chemistry between Chloe and Xander is off the charts, but both of them try to resist the forbidden. But late night run-ins, family dinners, and constant proximity just force them closer and closer to the edge. That man has such a dirty mouth, pass me a glass of water.
I listened as audio, and Conner Crais and Vanessa Edwin did a phenomenal job. Such a fantastic job portraying a literal grumpy x sunshine trope, I couldn’t get enough. Can’t wait for the next in the series.
