Wyatt by Jessica Peterson

Queen B’s Decree: Now, the friends-to-lovers trope sometimes gives me the ick. I know, I’m the problem, it’s me. And I was worried Wyatt was heading the same way. MMC pines for the FMC yet has a gazillion meaningless sexual relationships while claiming he’s in love. It just doesn’t vibe with me. But somehow Wyatt still charmed me—likely because his previous conquests are never thrown in our face.

And I think in this case, Sally and Wyatt growing up and maturing was really the best thing for their relationship. They both needed to grow up and become their own person/identity before they were ready for HEA.

The narrators Stephen Dexter and Lila Winters really had the accent that made me feel like I’d driven down to Texas (just needed a Buc-ee’s to make me really feel like I was there).

The story is filled with lots of great banter, very nice steam, and a whole lot of “FINALLY” once they get their act together. It’s a bit of a slow burn but it’s just oh so satisfying. While you can argue there wasn’t really much happening, I felt like that was the point? I truly didn’t mind a book full of character and relationship development.

And now I can’t wait for Sawyer and you KNOW I’m gonna listen on audio.
