Queen B’s Decree: Newer reminded me of The Wild Robot; where robots/bots start to adapt and become more and more humanistic and emotional.
While this is a novella, it felt like a full story. And although it alternates between two different main characters, and you’re not sure how they are initially related, it all comes full circle and soon makes total sense.
Naturally, my favorite character was Neem 22. Who doesn’t love a bot that is kind of a rebel? He’s irresistible.
Overall, Newer was a quick, interesting read and I’d happily read more from this author.
