Queen B’s Top Reads of 2023

I’m going with the same method as last year—narrow it down to one book per month. It’s still hard to choose a favorite, but it’s by far the easiest method I’ve attempted so far.

This was a year of new things. I stuck with a book club for an entire year. I read outside my normal genre. I discovered my love of audio books. I’m learning what parts of book reviewing I enjoy and which parts feel like work.

Overall…it was a pretty good year. Without further ado, my top twelve reads from 2023!

• The Marriage Auction by Audrey Carlan — all four volumes had me in a chokehold
• One Pucked Up Pack by Sarah Blue — if you thought my love affair with Sarah Blue was over, you are sadly mistaken
• Legacy of Shadows by Tessa Hale — anything she writes is basically crack to me
• In the Lives of Puppets by TJ Klune — my favorite from the entire year
• No Small Sin by Genna Black — Beck is the morally grey hero I cannot resist
• Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros — spurred my dive into romantasy
• Mantras and Minotaurs by Ashley Bennett — can a monster romance be ANY cuter?
• Fly With Me by Andie Burke — I can’t remember a time a story moved me so much
• Too Fast by Abby Millsaps — I fell HARD for Stats Daddy
• Spell Bound by FT Lukens — another new to me author that I devoured
• Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros — dem dragons tho
• Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton — yes, I love dinosaurs

Looking back at my top reads from 2022…I talked about reading a fantasy book this year. And I did it. I actually did it. I am still surprised but huzzah!
