Protector’s Promise is a fantastic addition to the Heat Haven series, and I loved that it was a little different from the others. Cami—aka, pop star Deja Fox—needs a new bodyguard and Smith is the lucky guy. But while Smith tries to see her only as a client and a spoiled Omega, soon he realizes how sweet and strong she really is.
I loved the character development of them both. Cami learns that she can rely on someone else and begins to reveal her sweet, vulnerable, and obsessive side. Smith lets go of insecurities holding him back and he realizes that he is enough, just as he is. Once he does that, his protective nature is unleashed.
This was definitely a slow burn, but their sexual tension is top tier. Once they finally came together, it was *chef’s kiss.* Sarah is a queen of erotic heat scenes and the scene in Protector’s Promise was on par with all the others in the series.
As expected, Sarah brings it home, and Protector’s Promise was a fun, hot, and sexy read. Always ready for more.
