Dating the Duke by Emma Hart

Queen B’s Decree: Dating the Duke was a light-hearted read. It didn’t have the same over-the-top ridiculous antics that some of Emma Hart’s stories can have, but it was still funny and sweet.

I do have some complaints. I thought the pacing was a little slow; the story seemed to drag on for the first half. But the second half made up for it.

Olympia was maybe my favorite Emma Hart character ever. She was such a well-written character and she brought so much to the story. The connection between Adelaide and Alex seems superficial at first, but it is easy to see how their relationship grew. Add in a little steam and you’ve got an enjoyable read.

A nice addition to the series with well-written side characters.

  1. Did the version you read and abruptly after chapter 18? In the library version it ends with a couple having tea, and they never actually get together. There have to be missing chapters but all of the reviews don’t seem to mention this on the advance copies. I have seen where other people who read the ebook have had the same issue.

    1. No, my copy has 34 chapters plus an epilogue, so this definitely sounds like an error. I would reach out to the author, she is very responsive on social media!
