Queen B’s Decree: While Second-in-Command is the second in the series, I actually enjoyed it more than The Boss. Marcus took over the operations at the end of the previous book and he’s done a great job of it, relying on his instincts and fighting crime. It’s those instincts that lead him to Missy during one raid, where he finds her hidden in a cage behind a wall.
Missy and Marcus together were fantastic. Marcus was protective, intense, and sweet, while Missy does her best to build herself up again. She was so strong and resilient.
Their chemistry together was hot and the connection between them was clear to see. Well written, interesting story line, and emotional depth, Second-in-Command was a great addition to the series and I’m looking forward to more.
