Queen B’s Decree: Boyfriend was a fun and easy read that made your heart smile. Abbi is a waitress and the hockey boys’ favorite restaurant and she’s been admiring her favorite hockey player from afar until she sees him put up a flyer offering his services as a “holiday boyfriend for Thanksgiving.”
Weston is surprised that the hot waitress is his Thanksgiving date, but in the good way where he’s hoping for more later. But what starts lighthearted eventually becomes deeper and more emotional. They keep up their fake relationship, but as time passes, it seems like they start to straddle the line between real and fake.
I love how Sarina Bowen kept it light while still discussing some really deep and emotional issues. Boyfriend is a perfect example of her exemplary writing skills, giving you a story that is easy and light while still being so satisfying.
