Read. Reign. Repeat.

Call You Mine by Claudia Burgoa

Queen B’s Decree: Call You Mine went in a totally different direction than I was expecting. So my complaint from the first book in the series, Loved You Once, was that each brother was a different trope so it felt overdone. Well, we get a bonus trope in Beacon’s story. This is what my major complaint is about.

No spoilers here, but just know that it essentially ruined the believability for me.

But back to the important part: the relationship between Beacon and Grace. They’ve been best friends forever, and we finally learn that Beacon has some not-so-friendly feelings for Grace – feelings that he’s been hiding. Once Beacon stops hiding his feelings, their emotional relationship moves quickly.

I feel conflicted about Call You Mine. The writing was good, and the relationship between the two was worth reading, but I can’t get passed the ridiculous over-the-top trope. I’m hoping that Mills’s story keeps me interested in the series.
