Queen B’s Decree: Campfire Chaos begins right after the final events of Little Hoodlum, where Charlotte has been in a car accident that nearly kills one of the Hoodlums, Terrence. That Hoodlum’s best friend, Cal, takes it personally and decides it’s his duty to make Charlotte’s life hell.
When Charlotte gets back from rehab, she is shocked to discover that one of her new teachers (since she is redoing her senior year) is Cal. So she’s still dealing with the guilt of the accident, trying to get away from her abusive ex-boyfriend and his cop father, and now Cal is there every day to torment her.
But Cal’s not able to keep it up; he quickly transitions from hater to lover. It was like he couldn’t help himself; there was a draw between the two that couldn’t be denied.
What followed was a bit of the typical bully relationship with some suspense and difficult situations thrown in. Their relationship was very back and forth, but was also full of banter and sizzling chemistry. A couple new side characters were introduced and they all felt integral to the story.
But what made this book for me? Penny. Charlotte’s younger sister was a badass and I want to be her. She needs her own book.
