Hear Her Scream by Dylan H. Jones

Queen B’s Decree: Valencia’s friend was murdered 7 years ago, and she’s never really gotten closure. The podcast she works for is creating an episode about her friend’s story, planning to prove innocence for the “killer” in prison, so Valencia has a chance to find answers.

Valencia was a hard character to like; she was rude and made some foolish decisions. But she needs therapy, so I can forgive her. I enjoyed having multiple points of view, even though it took some time to put it all together. It never fails, one of my favorite parts of a thriller is reading the POV of the killer. Always the highlight for me.

I found myself more interested in the killer and his reason for murder versus Valencia’s story. It felt like the story was too slow at times, and I wished the pacing was a little more consistent.

Overall, Hear Her Scream was an enjoyable read with an interesting twist on a serial killer.
