Read. Reign. Repeat.

Heartsong by T.J. Klune

Queen B’s Decree: I read Wolfsong years ago (and loved it, as a matter of fact) so once I saw the re-release of Heartsong on Netgalley I decided it was time to attempt to finish the series.

Ravensong was a second-chance trope that was angsty and heartbreakingly painful, so I was excited for Heartsong and the lack of angstyness.

Wrong.

Angst abounds. Insert amnesia (due to magical interference!) trope and god, how painful it was. While I love T.J. Klune’s writing, this one was heartbreaking like I was missing their love story. Robbie and Kelly were mates for years before this story begins and it’s all about their journey back to each other. And the main bad guy is STILL around and will you just die???

By the end, I had cried and laughed, and it all just reaffirms how much I love T.J. Klune’s books. Because even though this one was angsty and heart wrenching, I still enjoyed Heartsong.

Only one more book to finish the series…but maybe I need to watch a romcom as a palate cleanser first. Thank you to Tor Publishing Group for the review copy.
